Guerilla marketing

Guerrilla marketing is an advertising strategy in which low-cost unconventional means (graffiti, sticker bombing, flash mobs) are utilized, often in a localized fashion or large network of individual cells, to convey or promote a product or an idea. This allows for a more trendy approach and means they can spend money else where, such as products.
Guerilla marketing campaigns are unexpected and unconventional, potentially interactive, and consumers are targeted in unexpected places. This allows them to be more impacting and receive greater attention as they are more eye catching.
Guerilla marketing has to be unique, engaging and thought-provoking concept to generate buzz, and consequently turn viral. The idea is for the marketing not to be forgotten soon, such as billboards or tv shows. By being so memorable and turning viral it means after a while you will still see some effect no matter how small.
You can do Guerrilla marketing by doing such things as,street giveaways of products, PR stunts, or any unconventional marketing intended to get maximum results from minimal resources. Recently more guerilla marketing utilises new technology i.e qr codes and apps, to engage the consumer and create a memorable brand experience.
