From looking at Job descriptions the skills that I need to either improve or get, are:
A language would be advantageous, therefore I am going to try and teach myself French,so that I can put French down as a skill. I will try and buy some books and simple French movie's to start with and may in a few months buy one of the interactive French programmes if I feel that French is something I possibly could learn.
More Experience is needed. Many of the job descriptions are very explicit that you must have experience in the PR sector that they are in such as finance or travel. I therefore this year am going to try and get as many general PR/Social media placements as I can, and when I do my year out try to get some more specialised PR that is involved with fashion so that I can start to move into the area that I want to be in.
For now these are the skills that I am going to work on, I am also going to read some of the books that people doing a Communications degree would read, so that I can try and get some more information and learn more about the different area's in PR.
