Snow pr

Snow PR works in many area's of PR, they work with in celebrity placement, public relations and sales, press days, events and shows as well. This means that they have a varied office and can offer more to clients. They have clients such as Pam Hoggs on their books.
They also work hard to make sure that they can get their clients into paper based and online based media, which is important since both are influential, however paper based sales have dropped. Therefore it is important that they keep up with current trends.

Funding for Placement year

I have started to look into funding for my placement year.
I have managed to find out how much it will cost for me to take a year out, tuition wise. On the coventry student finance page, it states, that a year out for placement, means I will only pay £633.45
For the maintenance loan, you get a slightly reduced rate. This means I will need to start working in London so that I can balance out what I have lost, I have therefore started to apply for jobs so that I can start working and try to save a little.

Creative CV Development.

I have done these 2 designs for my creative CV. I started off with changing the contents of my CV so that it was shorter, and moving my references into my portfolio. My QR code, leads to my portfolio where they can be found and my work can be found too.
I then decided that it still looked boring and didn't reflect much of me, I therefore decided to use my scarf print so that I could show off my photoshop skills and show more of my personality.

Creative CV

Here are some examples of creative CV's that I have found and are hoping to be inspired by.
I particularly like this CV because of the styling and the use of pictures that there are. It is also more colourful, and still means I can keep my basic style of my old CV without going too overboard with it being creative.
QR Code - I can have a QR code in the top left hand corner that will link to my portfolio.

I like the layout of this CV and the JeffHo reminds me of a QR code, I may also make a logo.
Here is also a CV, that I found that has cute drawings however it doesn't really apply to my practice.
I like the layout style, of this one and so will try this one as well, since the style is simple and yet elegant.

I like this CV for the on trend type of font they have used and the colour.

CV Creative Design

Since I am applying for mostly Online Social Media jobs, I have decided to try and fit my blog in with the facebook style to see how it looks. Meanwhile it does not look awful, I do not think that it looks that much better at all and could be limiting when PR agencies look at it, as they may think that I am more interested in PR, which isn't correct. I am therefore not going through with this design as I do not think it will be as beneficial as my black and white CV that I currently have.

Placement day 1

I have started my placement and have been taught how to docket (book clothes out) and have done a few other tasks since they were quite busy so I mainly booked clothes out. Stylists came into the show room such as Theo and Aisha for JLS, we also took a few bags of clothing to the Vogue house and I booked out clothes for Little Mix.

Future Lab Conference - PR Talk

CiCi PR.

CiCi PR represents Zatchels,Lisa Bleu, Jessica Flinn,Angel Eyes,Mya Blue,Zara Taylor and Dannique hairdressers.
Cici PR evolved because of trends in the industry, beauty has demanded to work with fashion companies because they want to be seen as a fashion/lifestyle brands. So they are promoted the same way, which has progressed the company.
A London press office has helped them to evolve because it has become more of the trend where, press, stylists and celebrities can come and view items.

Main Areas:

Editorial PR: getting brand names etc mentioned in magazines, newspapers and online i.e. bloggers. Clients are featured. This is the main area they focus on.

Event PR: Events used to be done by Event companies however due to the recession the budgets are smaller and so want to give the PR company and give 1 budget to 1 company, so they now do events as well. They do 20 events a year for their clients i.e. catwalk shows, Miami swimwear show, product launches, press days, interviews etc.

Expose PR: Celebrity culture. Seeing clients products on a celebrity or mentioned by one. They drive sales and sell products. Brands can sell extra's because people want the swimsuits that celebrities wear.

New PR: Online social media. This is greatly taking off, and is beginning to make itself more important, and will continue to grow until 50% of PR is online social media.

New trends in PR:

Collaborations with celebrities:  Designers at Debenhams managed to create this and led the way. Now their is a Rhianna collection for River Island. Collaborations are fun and attract people because of the celebrity culture. Celebrities maximise PR.

The Future of PR:

You generally need to be able to do everything and now their is on line tools which customers can use and thus removing business from PR businesses. Traditional PR is less at the forefront and less wanted.
Magazines are also decreasing and apps/ websites/ or blogs are increasing. They are quicker to update and can keep up more easily with trends and have more substance.
Events have an online presence as well and this is increasing much faster and more PR is being done via social media.
